Tag It!Pac Man Turns 30! That's right! That little yellow hungry round thing that devours little dots while avoiding things that I would roughly associate with the term "ghosts" is now 30 years old! If it had not been for IGN's Dail Fix video over on their YouTube channel, I would never would have known! To celebrate this event, Google has come up with something fun! I think its the best Google logo ever. Curious? Head on over to Google.Com to find out now! Ip Man 2
Donnie Yen is back as the Wing Chun master in Ip Man 2. With its awesome fight sequences from the first movie, it is understandable that I was pretty excited to see more fast and fluid fighting action in the second film. The story picks up a few years after the events of the first where he escaped to Hong Kong during the Japanese occupation of China. Ip Man is trying to set up a martial arts school to earn some cash and make ends meet. The first half of the movie is like how things are going nowhere for him. Short on cash, students causing trouble for him and another martial arts master, played by Sammo Hung, causing trouble for him. The second half of the movie deals with the British and how some of them take advantage of the Chinese in Hong Kong. You see them bullying the Chinese and suddenly you feel like its an attempt at bashing the image of the Westerners. Well, I wou;d not know if that is true or not since the timeline of the movie is way before I was even born. The movie then boils down to one epic fight scene with a British boxer in a Chinese-Western boxing match. I totally enjoyed that fight scene. Seeing the two different fighting styles go head to head in a boxing ring was really...hmm...fun? Some people who watched the show may find that the sequel has less action than the first. Too much talking and focus on his struggles in making a life for his family in Hong Kong and not enough fighting. I think it had a rather good balance. Worth catching it in a cinema. Nuclear Launch Detected!
At long last! Blizzard Entertainment has finally announced the official release date for the long awaited Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty to be on the 27th of July 2010. That's about 2 months away! It will retail for USD60. Which means, when it comes to Singapore, expect it to be around SGD75. If you are really that crazy about Starcraft 2, there is the Collector's Edition that is full of goodies like soundtrack and art book. However, be warned that it is insanely expensive. It will set you back by USD100. Convert that to Singapore Dollar and you get the idea. Me? I am definitely getting the normal version. So, all you Starcraft fans, mark the 27th of July on your calendars! |
