I was on the internet just now and guess what I found?

That has got to hurt like hell.

Lost
Thursday, 30th July 2009, 4:34:19pm

I think I have been working too much.

Since this morning, I had this thinking that it was Wednesday today. Then during lunch, something caused me to wonder if it was really Wednesday today. So I checked the calendar in my handphone and saw it was actually Thursday!

Then lately, I really have no mood to work at all. Even though there are projects to do, I just can't seem to get started on them or complete them quickly.

Think I need a break.

ez-Link Card Question
Wednesday, 29th July 2009, 8:57:33pm

Just the other day, I was at Tanah Merah MRT station on my way to work. My ez-Link card had $2.96 remaining. However, when I scanned it at the gate, it refused to let me through. Instead, it displayed a message saying that the value in the card was low and I had to top up in other to continue.

So, what is the minimum value you must have in your ez-Link card before you can enter through the gates at the MRT control station?

Flags
Wednesday, 29th July 2009, 9:43:45am

Have you ever looked up at the HDB blocks in your area and noticed how many Singapore flags there are?

National Day is just 11 days away but the total number of flags I counted hanging from the windows of my block were less than the number of fingers on one hand.

So, either Singaporeans can't be bothered or are really fed up with the PAP.

Sam Raimi to Direct Warcraft Movie
Tuesday, 28th July 2009, 11:25:30pm

In case you guys are still not aware, there is a Warcraft movie in the making! Live action! Sam Raimi will be directing too. Who is he? Actually, I have never heard of the guy before. Even after I read that he directed all the Spiderman movies, I still don't know who he is. Must be a bloody good director though.

Anyway, the famed director has signed on to bring the forces of the Horde (Orcs, Goblins, Taurens etc) and the Alliance (Humans, Night Elves, Dwarves etc) to the big screen. So, I wonder if all those people who are crazy about World of Warcraft will catch this one.

Actually, the correct question to ask will be whether it will be a flop like so many other movies that are adaptations of computer or video games. Let's look at past history.

Street Fighter - Piece of shit.

Wing Commander - Crap though I bet most of you didn't know the movie ever existed since it went straight to DVD.

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li - Heard it was all crap too.

So, you can't really say that my worry that this Warcraft movie will be a flop as well is unfounded, right?

Roundup of Sorts
Tuesday, 28th July 2009, 10:48:00am

Finally got to play basketball after 2 weeks of cancelled sessions. I didn't mind the fact that the sun was blazing in the cloudless sky. Nor did I mind that there were only 7 or 8 people that day to play with. It just felt good to play my favourite sport Then I got injured. One of the players made a run towards the basket and naturally, as a defender, I had to try and get in front of him and stop him for getting an easy shot or lay up. The opponent opt for a lay up and jumped. I jumped up with him to and as a "reward" for putting effort into defense, I got a nasty kick to the side of my left leg. Just below the knee. The pain was quite intense and I could not get up for a minute or two.

Now I can't really walk really fast. I was limping slightly on Monday. It is slightly better today but I found that if I keep my leg straight for a long time, I can walk normally without too much discomfort. So I have to sit with my left leg stretched out at all times. Well, until it heals totally that is. This means I will not be able to participate in basketball sessions for a week or two.

Oh yeah. Liverpool came. Liverpool saw. Liverpool gave the Singapor soccer team a thrashing of 5-0. No surprise there. And the saddest thing about the whole thing? The entire stadium was packed with Liverpool fans out to support an English team. The Singapore team didn't get an love. Didn't the Sports Council or something said something about a dream for the Singapore soccer team to get into the World Cup in the future? Was it 2012? Perhaps it will always remain a dream. A very distant one at the rate they are playing.

Sliding Horse
Monday, 6th July 2009, 3:31:35pm

I was on the internet this afternoon and I found THIS...

Some lame Bollywood director must have thought "Hey! If Hollywood can do that with motorbikes, why not do it with a bloody horse?!"

Way to go Bollywood. Way to go.

3 Hours on 42 Inch
Monday, 6th July 2009, 1:53:51pm

Yes. 3 hours of Street Fighter IV at my friend's house using his 42 inch HD ready TV. Seriously, I can't tell the difference between a HD Ready TV and a Full HD TV. Pictures look just as sharp to me.

Anyway, brought my PS3 over to my friend's house and were quite excited to get it all hooked up to his big ass TV. Then we switched to Input 3 and the message "Not compatible with this signal" came up on the screen. We were like "WTF?!". Aren't HDMI cables all the same? My HDMI cable came with my purchase of the 22 inch Full HD Philips monitor.

Never mind. Luckily, my friend stays in Bedok Interchange. So, we visited every electronics shop, NTUC and even Seng Siong. Yes. That place really stinks of fish, prawns and almost every sea creature you can think of save the Loch Ness monster. Prices of the HDMI cable were all higher than expected. I mean, if Qisahn can sell Sony HDMI cables for $25 each, why are there bloody idiots quoting us $28 to $35?!

It was a good thing that we decided not to buy a new cable and try our luck again with the one I already have. I remembered tweaking some display settings in the Playstation 3. It turned out to be true! I had set one of the display settings to 1080p! That only works on a Full HD TV. For a HD Ready TV, the best it can go is only 1080i. So, now I know. For those of you who did not know too, well, now you do.

After that, it was 3 hours of button mashing and furious combos and Ultra Combo finishes. Of course, my friend was better than me since he is more skilled with Ken than I am with Gouken. In the end, we had like 80 over matches with him winnning 60% of the total matches. Crap.

Cookies
Friday, 3rd July 2009, 3:54:35pm

Just ate the cookies that I bought from the nearby 7-11. Priced at $3 for 3 cookies in one packet, they looked strangely similar to the ones sold by Subway. They even felt and tasted like the ones from Subway!

Hmm...yummy... =p
